1–21–21 | Sticking with God
CJ is coming in a matter of weeks. No longer months, weeks. Our son is coming into the world! What joy!
At the same time, what sorrow awaits as we prepare our hearts for all his little body will endure those first weeks of life.
I’ve been reflecting on a wisdom passage. I keep reading it. I’ve sent to friends. I just can’t stop reflecting on the truths found in Lamentations 3:19–24.
There’s a line in it that has become a mantra for me this week. I love it. It feeds my soul:
“I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over)”
In the joy, in the sorrow, I’m sticking with God.
I’m sticking with Love. I’m sticking with Peace. I’m sticking with Hope. I’m sticking with Light. I’m sticking with Redemption. I’m sticking with Faith. I’m sticking with God.
I say it over and over because I have to remind myself to stick with it! The shadows of fear and despondency lurking in corners are no match when Light and Love are on my side.
Yes, I’m sticking with God. Ah, and what a comfort it is that this same God is sticking with me.
